Alicia Eshleman, a native Virginian, has over 20 years of professional playing experience. She graduated from Meadows School of the Arts in Dallas, TX with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance and Music Theory. She has performed in chamber groups and orchestras all over the United States, including with the National Symphony, the Dallas Symphony and at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston. She won a two year apprenticeship with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C. where she received instruction, coaching and performance opportunities with renowned guest artists and conductors at the Kennedy Center for the Arts and with the National Symphony. She finished 4th in a national audition which led to performances with orchestras in New York and Chicago. Some of her private teachers include Grammy winning recording artist Erick Friedman, Emmanuel Borok, concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony, Luis Haza of the National Symphony and David Updegraff, Cleveland Institute of Music. Alicia is very active in the Charlotte area as a chamber musician, orchestral performer and teacher. She performs regularly with her professional chamber group, the Speranza Chamber Players and with many area orchestras. She maintains a private teaching studio and teaches at the Westminster Music and Arts Academy in Rock Hill, SC. She lives in Charlotte with her husband of 14 years and two beautiful daughters.
